Writing Workshops

Therapeutic and Reflective Writing Workshops

In collaboration with your organisation, Ann-marie will design a program that incorporates non-clinical therapeutic and reflective writing techniques to meet your specific goals for clients or staff.

Depending upon your needs the program can be a single session or a sequence of workshops.

Participants will have the chance to engage in a supportive, creative program that enables them to reap the benefits of writing freely and, if they wish, to share their thoughts, ideas, stories, and experiences both through their writing and with the group.

Writing has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health. It provides participants with a platform to express themselves, engage in self-reflection, and experience a fulfilling sense of achievement.

The program will aim to foster participant well-being by promoting increased connection, empowerment, empathy and hope. Furthermore, writing can lead to numerous beneficial outcomes, including:

Increased self-awareness and emotional processing, reduced stress and anxiety, improved communication skills, a boost in creativity and self-expression, and better overall well-being. Group writing activities also promote a sense of community and belonging.

Good grammar, spelling, or neat handwriting not required, and the program could be tailored to suit participants with lower literacy.

Please note: Ann-marie utilises a number of non-clinical therapeutic writing techniques, but her programs are not clinical therapy/support groups. A support worker from your organisation may be required to be in attendance if working with clients. If participants have any mental health or other health issues, please make sure that they have appropriate professional support both during and outside the group.
